It's time for a little pampering again!! Treat your locks to a DIY mask. You probably have these items in your kitchen cupboards, so no need to fork out lots of money on expensive products. Whether you have greasy hair or dry hair, we have something for you.

DRY HAIR

Dry, frizzy hair comes from a lack of moisture. There are many factors that can cause dry hair and scalp, some of these include, over washing, too much heat from hair dryers and straighteners, exposure to sun and wind, chemical treatments such as perms and dyes, and most unfortunately, age! As we age we naturally produce less oil. boo.

Avocado is high in proteins, amino acids, magnesium, folic acid, copper and iron, as well as vitamins A, D, E and B6. The oils in avocados are one of the few that can penetrate the cuticle and actually moisturise hair.

Coconut oil has many benefits. It stimulates hair growth by getting deep into the follicles. It also reduces the loss of protein, which is the main cause of dry, brittle hair. It also prevents breakage and split ends whilst adding lustre, shine and softness to the hair.

GREASY HAIR

Greasy hair comes from having an oily scalp. Our skin needs moisture to remain supple and healthy, so the glands in our scalp produce sebum, which does just that. If we over produce sebum, then the extra substance gets absorbed by the hair, leading to greasy, oily appearance.

There are many factors that can cause oily hair, such as lack of regular cleansing, use of too many hair products, smokey environments, sweating, hormonal changes, the list goes on. It can affect the way you look, and in turn the way you feel. So try this home remedy out and have your hair down for a change!

The egg whites help to control the amount of sebum secreted and also tighten the hair follicles. They are also filled with bacteria hindering enzymes to keep your scalp clean and healthy.

The lemons help to balance your scalps natural oil production and removes any excess oil. The juice also works to restore your scalps PH balance, adding body and shine to your hair.
